How to Get Involved
There are two ways to get involved with the Rural Reach Initiative:
SHADOWING

Sign Up to Shadow – Take advantage of rural shadowing opportunities to gain firsthand experience in rural medicine, build mentorship relationships, and explore the unique challenges and rewards of serving underserved communities.
LEADERSHIP

Become a Rural Reach Ambassador – Step into a leadership role by connecting with rural physicians and helping create new shadowing opportunities for other students who are interested in rural healthcare.
Option #1 - Sign Up to Shadow
Sign up for available shadowing opportunities through the “Events” tab. If no opportunities are currently listed, you can receive notifications when new ones are posted by completing the “Get in Touch” form.
Shadow a rural medicine physician and gain insight into rural medicine.

Fill out the Form below with your information.
Find a rural physician that is willing to donate shadowing opportunities to our initiative.
Have the rural physician complete the form located on the “Donate Opportunities” tab. Please make sure they list your name as the referral to the initiative. This allows us to track your outreach efforts and maintain accurate records in the event we are contacted by health professional admissions committees to verify your involvement.
Our team will contact the physician directly to confirm availability and shadowing dates. Once the opportunity is verified and posted, you will receive an email notification with the details.
